What does it mean to be
on a swim team?
It means finding a place where you can be yourself.
It means challenging yourself and your team mates to become better and faster
swimmers, while being surrounded by others who are doing the same.
And it means making friends, some of whom you may end up keeping as friends for life.
-Coach Rick Madge.

If you are a NEW or RETURNING swim family, please join us for an important informational meeting about the upcoming season!
Most of the work in having a successful swim team happens in the off-season! We need help to ensure that our kids will have a FUN, successful summer swim team! That starts now, with families committing to the team and pitching in with various volunteer positions.
Agenda items include:
Announcement of our amazing coaching staff
Open Board positions (2)
Need for trained/certified meet volunteers (Strokes & Turns, Starter, Clerk of Course, Head Table Worker) Training classes are offered beginning in April!
Committee volunteers (Champs Coordinator, Social/Fundraising, Team Photos, Recruiting, Concessions)
Registration & Evaluation Information
If you cannot make the meeting but your family plans to swim and you want to volunteer, please email email@example.com
PLEASE share this information with any neighbors who may not see this!!
If you are ONLY interested in the Pre-Team program (swimmers who cannot successfully swim a single length of the pool) and have NOT already sent an email, please do so to the above. We are compiling a list and will send those details separately.
Vo l u n t e e r i n g :
It really takes a village to make this swim team successful. That is why we do require our families to volunteer to help at the swim meets. As of right now each family will be required to work the entire meet.
Champs Cooridinator: Invited to Join the Board Meetings starting in May. We are asking for 15 mins of your time at each Board meeting.
Each lane requires 3 timers to time each swimmer. This is a great position for new families to do and you get a great view! The Head Timer’s job is to carry two watches and start them so that if something happens to the watch of a timer, there will not be a missed time for the swimmer.
The runner picks up the timing sheets from the timer and DQ cards from the Strokes and turns officials and bring them to the table workers. Another great position for new families and you get the added perk of up the steps on your fitbit.
Table Worker/ Ribbons
Although this position can look a bit scary, it is not so bad. Your job is to mark the middle time on the timing sheets and organize the DQ cards and timing sheets for the computer rep. During the 2nd half there will be an extra ribbons worker that will be in charge of putting the stickers onto ribbons for the swimmers.
Meet set up and take down
Set up usually begins at 4:30 and that includes helping set up the clerk of course area, PA system, and assisting the meet director with other duties. One or more people may also be pulled to help with registration. Meet take down is putting everything away and helping clean the deck of any trash.
Invited to Join the Board Meetings starting in April. We are asking for 30 mins of your time at each Board meeting. You will be responsible for maintaining proper staff at the Concessions during Swim Meets and planning out the menu.
Concessions workers will be filled by the concessions committee this year. They plan out
the menu and items available, provide water to volunteers.
Clerk of course helper:
This is a great position for people who love to work with the kids. This person helps the clerk make sure that the kids are there for their events and are lined up in the right lane.
Some positions require special training. These are Clerk of Course, Strokes and Turns, Computer, Starter, and Referee. If interested in these positions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
